_HISTORY: link to or provide a summary of your character's world as it relates to your character. this includes setting and backstory for your character.

John's history begins under his real name read as Li Yin in the land that would eventually be Zhiaow. Before the land was united his particular Province was call Che'la (Read as The Strong Rock), when he was born to Li Jixua and Aneaic Terrish, a foreigner. Despite being of mixed descent he was well-accepted in his community and the schools, and his life was fairly uneventful, other than he had a fiery temper, and many claimed that was because of his mixed descent, as his father was know for being a bit rash as he also settled in. Things changed a great deal when he was 18, Mar finally arrived from the Continent of Lapetix. Mar was a civilization that literally fell from the sky and acted like they were superior to all "ground dwellers" and had proceeded at first to simply trade, though they would never share much of their special technology with anyone and when trade was closed with Mar it moved to start attacking it's outlying neighbors, it's superior science making it able to slowly build outward. It would have been much faster except they were reliant on stationary powersources save when the floating Continent Elysium drifted by. In year 106 post Mar-fall, they land ashore of Envil and close to Yin's home, and the invasion starts. His people hold out for two years because Mar's forces have to retreat periodically to recharge their precious technology while his people do not, but in the end Yin's home is taken and he is imprisoned for half a year before being conscripted into Mar's military forces as an offer to get out of the prison camp. It is short-lived as he tries to stage a revolt that is put down violently.

His fate now becomes tied to the Spy Arro Caine, who was apparently a former Biologist with his knowledge of Mar's genetic manipulation trials. They wanted to make weapons to use and Arro suggested to use the revolters rather than killing them. He viewed it as a form of mercy since he had issues with Mar's willingness to extinguish life lately. Therefore they decide to do it, and looking into files recommended directly from the Autocrat of Mar, they begin experimenting on Yin and periodically wipe his memory. Altering genes is a very delicate and volatile process and if they were going to make weapons they needed data, including a long-term study. So after playing with his genetic code for 20 years give his memory a final wipe and deliver him to a hospital with a head injury claiming he may have a concussion. He awakes after a couple weeks and is given the name Johnathan Channing after he utters the phrase, "Zhiong Cha' Long Nang," which meant unknown dragon in his tongue, but as he mumbled it, the nurse watching him though he answered with his new name. So John is dismissed, saying his bills had been paid by the people that dropped him off as they were concerned about him. His vitals are observed as time passes, and while attempts are made to recapture him, John finally escapes Mar as the pressure of not having any memories and the pursuit attempts finally make him transform for the first time. Dragons are very robust creatures and while hard to tame they prove to be powerful, so Mar was hoping to use dragons of their own. Instead John's internal temperature heated up enough to burnout the tracking chip placed just under his skin and he melted a steel wall from rage as he fled Mar. As most frequently sighted dragons are; he was dubbed with a title to give credit to his presence. John was dubbed the "Raging Firestorm" because of the heat field that could start burning trees and greenery when he was around and angry. Years passed and he encountered various people that eventually helped him retake his human form and calm himself enough that he could be around humans again. Around 350 years have passed around this time, and he returns to Mar to try and gather answers about the past he can't remember. Instead he meets a man that introduces himself as Arro Caine who strikes a cord of familiarity that John can't place and questions Arro. The other man instead talks around the issue until John presses him and then flatly states it's for John's safety that he not answer, and while John becomes enraged and chases him, the other man is one step ahead until he abruptly vanishes. They run into eachother several times during John's new stay in Mar, he working as a laborer, and Arro as a Librarian, yet for all the talking Arro does, John can't pin him down onto the topic of memories. Arro does finally point out that John doesn't seem deeply unhappy with not having them, and advises that curiosity is fine, but curiosity for curiosity's sake isn't so fine and that John should count his blessings as John has not ever encountered another individual that knew him from a time before when he awoke in Mar. The time passes and they pursue a few different sets of Jobs together as John finally learns Arro isn't everything he appears, despite seeming perfectly ordinary to all of John's non-human senses. When Arro tries to run for a Republic official a couple of lifetimes later, John becomes his bodyguard. After one term in the Republic, Arro suffers a mysterious accident and is presumed dead. John has his doubts but can't find any sign of the strange man. A few decades later, Mar ceases to exist as a country as it goes bankrupt and the entire cultural shift as rebellions happen makes Johns flee the chaos.

He travels finally to the newly liberated lands that unify into a Country known as Zhiaow, and finds it nostalgic somehow. He settles in and finds a bit of a mostly normal life for a while until a gang moves in, and while he repels them, the rest of the town he lived in asks him very politely to leave; most of their possessions are made with straw and wood, terrible materials to have around a fire dragon. So John moves to a dormant volcano in the mountains. While this is going on, Mar becomes Atael, a new Republic that shares out the former Mar's technology to push the world into the modern age, and parts of Zhiaow make use of this, allowing John to feel a little less dangerous to go into and trade furs and the like periodically.

_ABILITIES: describe your character's strengths and weaknesses as they relate to their universe.

John is a Fire Dragon. Rather than typical horns on his head, he has two horns on his snout similar to a rhinoceros, and opaque, jewel-like eyes that have a white sclera and no pupil as a human, but nothing visible as a dragon(natural dragons have a totally opaque eye in both forms. His scales are carmine red to match the clumps in his hair, while the rest is ash gray, the color he inherited from his father. He has wings to fly and is around 160 feet long. He can stand well enough on two of his four legs that he can actually fight like a human, which doesn't help given that he has taken several martial art lessons during his time in Zhiaow.

As mentioned in his history as a result of his genetic alteration, John has a heatfield that is ever-present, and at it's coldest is mildly warm. The temperature rises with his anger and when angry enough can ignite flammable materials, at his worst, John has melted a steel wall over the course of 20 minutes. He can command fire though a combination of psychic ability and magical ability that he doesn't understand the nature of, but it's quite normal for dragons. It's partially magical because he does use Mana around him to make fire, but he needs no spells, incantations, or wait-time to make and use fire which puts it on par with "Bending" abilities featured in the two Avatar series. As mentioned he is a martial artist, but hardly a professional.

His weaknesses are cold, though this is marginally negated by his heatfield, but more so water as it can quench his fires. His is mortal and can bleed, much more easily in human form than with a dragon's armored scales, but he can be cut in both if there is enough effort. It is very hard to break a bone of his as all of them have the same density as the normal human femur, which is compared to concrete, and more so when his larger mass as a dragon. Lightning can stop his heart just like it can most other things, and can stun him like most other things as well. He is normally resistant to fire of any sort, and can even swim in lava for an extended period as a dragon. In his human form he can dip in it briefly but it is painful, akin to holding something scalding hot. He can also be smothered in a vacuum as his fire will consume the oxygen around, but as a human he can survive with less than a normal human can for longer.

_PERSONALITY: provide a written illustration of your character, including examples of events that show the traits you're describing and important relationships that affect your character's mental state.

John is an angry person. He was angry before his change, but this has been amplified by the fire element's tendency of Passion. In this case, it means John never goes into anything half way, it either excites him or bores him. He is working on this since his move to Zhiaow. He prefers to be antisocial as he knows his short tempers doesn't benefit anyone around him, and he doesn't like talking when he doesn't have to. When he is pressed, he can converse well enough, and is a notably terrible liar since he sees not much point in lying. However, this doesn't stop him from lying at times, he just doesn't bother covering up the the fact he's lying. He can be apologetic when he gets angry about nothing as this usually involves a temper tantrum, and for those that will continue being around him afterwards, he can be nice enough, even if he doesn't necessarily say, "I apologize for getting upset," Because it happens often enough that apologies will not help. He can be persistent as shown when he pressed Arro Caine for almost a decade on answers for his memories, however he is also sensible as when Arro gave him wisdom on the fact that he didn't need his memories and accepted it after some thought.

In fact John will take a lot that happens to him as it comes and deal with it in his own way, mostly out of necessity as he had to deal with the fact he couldn't remember his life after he woke up in a hospital with no memory of his life prior. Part of it is also because a dragon has a mindset of detachment, because they live very long lives. He can cooperate well with someone once he knows them long enough as shown with Arro again as John was trusted to be the other man's bodyguard when he was running for Republic office. His relationship with Arro is perhaps the most lasting as again Arro helped him realize he didn't necessarily need his memories, and until their abrupt separation it was the first time John had felt companionship that was lasting and meaningful as Arro knew a great many things, and also didn't pass away like humans were apt to do with age.

John feels for the most part very isolated though as he burns things when angry, and it is so hard to stop being angry. He's never been part of the upper class and has always had to work for anything he received, which makes him come off as a bit jaded when it comes to 'free' gifts and promises. However he is an adequate judge of character which he did have to exercise as a bodyguard, and therefore when he decides someone is okay to be trusted he can open up a little more. However smiling is a rare thing for him because he has few reasons to be happy enough to smile. He was getting to the point where he was at least content with his life when he moved into his volcano and Zhiaow was modernizing enough for him to not worry about burning buildings made of metal and stone so easily.

_ITEMS:At the time, John had nothing on his person but some rags that were passing as clothes.
